One word to summarise today. WET! Can't you guys at the top spare some thoughts for a mere innocent looking guy like me? Opps. Ha.
Reached around 3pm at Kai Yi house because I don't have to get scolded for being late, btw, I am the one teaching...(scolded as in reprimanded by parents, I have been warned that the parent is very fierce so I am taking precautions you see.)
With full armour and helmet on, I crept into the house to be greeted by that surprised parent. (coz i came early ma.) After briefly going through what are the expectations she are looking for her son, I immediately launch my professional looking lecture. However, I can't stand people competing with me on who has the loudest voice in the same house (she was scolding the younger son), or suddenly appeared right in front of me (the corridor...duh, I need to buy some amulets). I merely raised my voice higher a bit, just a bit and shouted "focus!" to the son when she appeared behind or in front of me to let her know I can handle without supervision.
Pay wise also want to bargain with me. I told her I can't teach 3 subjects in 1.5hr. So she say ok lor, 2 subjects but $120...from $180 per 8 sessions. If liddat, I machiam just go through all three subjects at once without bothering about her son understanding in the subjects. Guess it doesn't pay to be too kind to others.
The next house I am visiting is a cute primary 2 boy. It is like heaven and hell comparing these two houses. It is just a bit weird that they chose kitchen for the lesson but it is much better compared to the previous one. I bought some sweets just in case to acknowledge his efforts in completing homework on time and scoring almost 90% or more in every allocation of homework.
His face is calling out to me to pinch him cause he is really cute. His voice just turn every worries of mine into smile on my face. He absorbs lessons very fast and has never failed to ask some irrelevant questions like, "Why your neck and hands got small little white dots?", "Why you look sad?", "Where you teach just now?", "You and my previous tutor teacher same work ah?", "How you know my previous tutor teacher?", "Why she can't teach?", "Why you can teach?" and for better or worse he asked, "Who are you going to get married to?"
I stunned for a moment before saying "you lor". He cheekily replied that it has to be a gal. I feel like pinching his cheek. Ha. You scored band 1 for your Maths and English 1st then I tell you, otherwise I will get punished by someone liao. =x
As usual, managed to take some photos to illustrate my point.
Rain, rain go away. I am teaching today.
Who want to compete with me on "getting across with minimum wetness?"
Here we go! Lecture time!
Hmmm...What is Rong Shen favourite?
I won 1 out of 5. The rest all draw. He was super good in it. A injection of fun into lecture. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. =D
